Sabarimala: A nine-year-old boy was seriously injured in a wild boar attack near Sannidhanam around 6.30 pm on Saturday. The child, Sreehari, is a native of Pazhaveedu in Alappuzha. He was part of a 21-member group, including his father, Manoj, who had come for the pilgrimage.

The incident happened near the Sannidhanam KSEB office when the group descended from Marakkoottam via Saramkuthi to the Valiya Nadappanthal area.

The wild boar charged and attacked, causing serious injuries to Sreehari's right knee. He was immediately admitted to the Government Hospital at Sannidhanam for treatment.

Two weeks earlier, a similar incident was reported where an ASI from Kannur, who had come out after lunch at the police barracks, suffered severe injuries in a wild boar attack.
