Thiruvananthapuram: Travancore Devaswom Board president PS Prashanth on Sunday revealed over 22 lakh Ayyappa devotees visited Sabarimala in 29 days until December 14, an increase of 4.51 lakh pilgrims compared to the same period last year. Speaking to reporters at Sannidhanam, Prashanth said the hill shrine's total revenue had risen by Rs 22.76 crore compared to last year.

A total of 22,67,956 devotees had visited Sabarimala by December 14, he said. The total revenue generated during this period amounted to Rs 163.89 crore. Of this, Rs 82.67 crore came from Aravana (prasadam) sales, and Rs 52.27 crore was collected from the offering box. Revenue from Aravana sales had increased by Rs 17.41 crore, up from Rs 65.26 crore last year, while the offering box collection saw an additional Rs 8.35 crore compared to the same period last year, he added.

Prashanth also stated that all necessary facilities had been arranged to ensure a smooth darshan for pilgrims and expressed gratitude to all departments, including the police, for their cooperation with the Devaswom Board, PTI reported.
