Kottayam couple death: Husband strangles wife, kills self

Kottayam: A couple was found dead in their house at Kadanad in Kottayam on Friday afternoon. The deceased are Kanamkombil Roy (60) and his wife, Jancy (55). The husband was found hanging while his wife was lying on the floor. Primary investigation hinted that Roy first strangled Jancy to death and then hanged himself. Police suspect marital discord may have driven the duo to take the extreme step.

 Roy had called up his brother before he committed suicide and the latter asked the neighbours to check on the couple. Though they rushed to the house, the couple could not be saved. They had sent their nine-year-old son to school on Friday.
