A man has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman inside a godown at Kazhakoottam in Thiruvananthapuram.
Kiran, a native of Avanavancherry near Attingal is in custody. The survivor is undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city.
According to reports, the crime took place Saturday evening. The accused reportedly forced the woman into a car before sexually assaulting her at a godown. She ran out naked.
According to the police, Kiran and the survivor were friends. On seeing the woman dining with another man at a hotel near the Technopark Kiran was upset. He took her on a bike and assaulted her, said the police.
By midnight, he took her to the godown of a Krishi Bhavan on Vetturoad -- where he previously worked as a temporary staff -- and raped her.
Kiran also filmed the act and repeatedly raped her. The woman fled from there and took refuge at a nearby house Sunday morning.
Kiran was taken into custody from the compound where he was hiding. Kiran chased the woman and he said they were a couple, said a local man, Wahid. "The woman was bleeding from her mouth," Wahid said.
