Woman alleges misbehaviour by passenger on KSRTC bus, minister promises action

A woman has complained that a co-passenger misbehaved with her onboard a KSRTC bus. The complainant, a native of Kozhikode, said the bus conductor did not take any action despite she complained to him.

The incident happened when the bus was going to Kozhikode from Thiruvananthapuram.

"I was saddened that nobody reacted. I was hurt more by the indifferent attitude of the conductor. I will go ahead with legal action," the woman told media.

State Transport Minister Antony Raju informed that action will be taken against the erring employees. He said a report has been sought from the KSRTC managing director. He said he spoke with the complainant woman.

The incident happened at a time when the KSRTC, struggling to overcome a long pending financial crisis, has announced a woman-friendly campaign in connection with the Women's Day.

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced exclusive tourism packages for women in connection with the Women’s

Day observations on March 8.

The trips, arranged by the Budget Tourism Cell of the KSRTC, would be available from March 8 to 13, during which the public carrier is celebrating the ‘Women’s travel week’.
