New Delhi: The legal procedures related to chopping the palm of Prof T J Joseph of Newman College, Thodupuzha in Kerala by members of Popular Front of India (PFI) back in 2010 are still continuing. In the most recent development in the case, the Supreme Court on Tuesday deferred by four weeks the hearing on a bail plea moved by M K Nazeer, one among the accused.
Chief Justice N V Ramana, while postponing the hearing, said the decision was taken after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) informed the court that the trial into the case would be completed in 6-8 weeks. An order on the bail plea would be issued considering the progress of the trial, said the apex court.
