Malayalam actor and director, Sreenivasan has said that the public was not dying to board the K-Rail.
The popular film personality came down heavily on the LDF government's proposed SilverLine (Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod Semi High-Speed Rail Project) in an interview given to Manorama News.
He urged the state government to first resolve the several basic issues faced by the public, notably with regards to lack of good food and proper housing.
“I doubt if the government has already ensured more important, basic things that were lacking in the state,” Sreenivasan said.
“People's food habits are the most important one; eat three times and stay in a proper house. It is essential to eat good food to keep diseases away. In Kerala, 95% of people are eating bad food, there are numerous people without a proper house. Have their problems been addressed?”
Sreenivasan claimed that as “very few people train frequently by trains” it wasn't an essential development work. “Nobody is dying to board the K-Rail,” he said.
