Kattappana: Dhanoop A Mohan and his family were forced to sell off their property to pay off debts and live in a rented house. But their fortunes changed overnight when Dhanoop won the Rs 80-lakh first prize of the Karunya lottery.
Dhanoop is from Anakkara in Idukki district. The ticket was purchased from Baby Joseph of the Anakkara Durga Lottery Agency.

His father A S Mohan, who was a daily-wage worker, has been disease-stricken. His mother Leelamani is a retired anganwadi teacher.
