Kochi: The 36-year-old homemaker from Thodupuzha who fought a two-and-a-half-year battle to prove her innocence in a fake adult video case has alleged that the police were not serious in their inquiry to find those who circulated the video in her name.

Sobha said in a complaint to the DGP that the cops have submitted the charge sheet without bothering to trace those behind the conspiracy to circulate the video. The battle she waged to prove her innocence had become big news last year.

Her husband evicted her from their home after the incident refusing her permission to visit their three children. Her plight grabbed the spotlight after she requested Manorama News to feature her story.

When the inquiry following her first complaint dragged on, she submitted a complaint to the DGP. Following this, on the directives of the DGP, the video was examined at the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), which confirmed that the visuals were fake and Sobha’s photo was morphed into it.

“The video was circulated to insult me and destroy my family life. I have handed over clear information on those who are behind it. Despite that, the charge sheet has been prepared without collecting specific information and evidence. There has been a conspiracy to destroy the case," Sobha alleged.
