Kozhikode: The Calicut University has postponed all the examinations that were scheduled for January 1 on account of apprehensions of traffic restrictions in connection with the organisation of the women’s wall.
According to vice-chancellor Dr K Mohammed Basheer, the decision to postpone the exams was made on the recommendation of the syndicate standing committee on examinations.
Committee chairman Dr C L Joshi said that the exams slated for January 1 were rescheduled in anticipation of traffic regulations due to the conduct of the women’s wall.
The Kottayam-based Mahatma Gandhi University had earlier decided to advance the first semester BA, BSc, and BCom. examinations, scheduled for that day, to December 31. The university authorities cited technical reasons for rescheduling the exams without providing further explanation.
Meanwhile, the examination wing of the Kannur University informed that a decision on postponing the supplementary exam scheduled for January 1 will be announced later in the day.
