Two students among accused in Abhimanyu murder case

Kochi: The Kerala police have identified all the 11 accused in the murder case of SFI leader Abhimanyu. Two of the accused are students, while the rest had come from outside. The main accused, Muhammad, is a degree student at the Maharaja's College itself.
The arrest of three SDPI activists has been registered. They include Riyas, Bilal and Farooq. The police will issue a lookout notice for the remaining eight. Muhammad, a Campus Front activist, and others are believed to be on the run. Two of the accused are believed to have left the state on the night of the attack itself.

Meanwhile, SFI worker Arjun Krishnan who was injured in the attack continues to be in a critical condition. Education minister C Raveendranath visited the house of Abhimanyu.
Spat over booking wall space led to SFI leader's death
An argument over the right to use the college wall for sticking posters to welcome first-year college students had led to the attack. The accused were identified from the CCTV camera footage obtained from a private educational institute opposite the site where the attack took place.
The campus and adjacent localities had witnessed umpteen political clashes over the decades, but SFI leader Abhimanyu is the first student fatality of the strife between rival unions.
