Kochi: Malayalam actor Kalasala Babu, 68, passed away here early Monday morning. The actor was under treatment at the Medical Trust Hospital in Ernakulam.
He was undergoing treatment since early this year after he suffered a stroke during an emergency surgery.
The veteran actor made his entry into Malayalam cinema with the film 'Ineya Thedi' by John Paul.

The son of renowned Kathakali artist Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair and Mohiniyattam exponent Kalamandalam Kalyanikutty Amma, Babu had essayed several roles both on big and small screens.
Kalasala Babu is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
