Thiruvananthapuram: Ilize, sister of foreign tourist Liga Skromane who was found dead at Thiruvallom, met chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan at his office here on Wednesday.

She said that all support was received from the government during her crisis. However, reports appeared in a section of the media putting the government in bad light. Ilize said that she was pained over the turn of events and that her meeting with the chief minster was also to express regret over the matter.

Pinarayi promised Ilize that the government would launch all necessary action in the case of her sister’s death.

With the completion of all legal formalities, Liga’s body will be cremated at Santhi Kavadam in Thycaud on Thursday. Moreover, a function will be organised under the aegis of the Tourism Department at Nishagandhi auditorium on May 6 to commemorate Liga.

Ilize will return to her native Latvia next week. After cremation, Liga’s ashes will be taken to Latvia and preserved there.

Meanwhile, Ilize said that she was yet to obtain the autopsy report of Liga.
