New Delhi: The Congress high command has approved the list of AICC members from Kerala which contains 65 names, including 13 women.
The party general secretary in charge of the state Mukul Wasnik had submitted the list to the high command the other day. All the names were finalised jointly by opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, former chief minister Oommen Chandy, KPCC former president V M Sudheeran and the present chief M M Hassan. The discussions and finalisation of the names took place in utter secrecy after the list of KPCC members prepared earlier had led to a major controversy.
The list of AICC members gives adequate representation to women and youth. Lists of members are being prepared by each state as a prelude to the plenary session of the party scheduled in Delhi from March 16 to 18.
