Manorama gets seven UNICEF awards

Thiruvananthapuram: The Manorama group received seven prizes, including for the best news photograph, at the media awards given by the UNICEF and the Kerala Child Rights Observatory.

Malayala Manorama photographer Reju Arnold got the first prize for the news photograph. The second prize went to chief photographer Josekutty J Panackal.

In the print media category, Malayala Manorama senior reporter Jojy Simon got the third prize.

In visual media, Manorama News reporter Justeena Thomas won the top award, while correspondent Dipu Revathy received the second prize.

Vanitha sub-editor Tensy Jacob and Manorama Arogyam senior sub-editor Santhosh Shishupal won the second and third positions, respectively, in the magazine category.

Other winners: R Samban (Deshabhimani), Pradeep Gopi (Deepika), Sajan V. Nambiar (Mathrubhumi), AA Shyamkumar (Asianet News), Haritha John, Megha Warrier (The News Minute), K Rajendran (Kairali Online), Anthony C David, O.K. Muralikrishnan, (Mathrubhumi Online), MK Geetha (Grihshobha), Lakshmi Ajay Prasanna (The Times of India) and Shevlin Sebastian (The New Indian Express).

The awards were presented by UNICEF’s Tamil Nadu and Kerala head, Job Zachariah, magician Gopinath Muthukad and Coastal Area Development Corporation managing director Dr K Amabdi.
