Police clearance certificate: NRKs can apply online

The application fees for the certificate can be paid at the respective police stations in Kerala by anyone known to the applicant.

Thiruvananthapuram: Making matters easier for non-resident Keralites (NRKs), the police department has introduced online facility to apply for police clearance certificate.

After downloading the application and related documents from the website www.keralapolice.gov.in, the NRKs can fill up and send them by e-mail to the official concerned. Along with the application, an authorization letter entrusting an acquaintance in Kerala to receive the certificate can be attached.

The application fees for the certificate can be paid at the respective police stations in Kerala by anyone known to the applicant. Online applicants will be issued certificates without photo.

Applicants will get the certificate by e-mail also, if required. However, those who want the certificate by e-mail should clearly mention this while applying.

The state police chief said that it was not mandatory that applicants submit documents mentioning the purpose for which the police clearance certificate was required. However, if the papers in this regard were available, they could be e-mailed.
