Work on the 198-km National Highway expansion progressing

New Delhi: The work on the 198-km National Highway expansion was progressing in eight regions in Kerala, union minister of state for road transport Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday informed the Lok Sabha.

• In the Thrissur-Wadakkanchery area, work has been completed on 22 km where the road is being expanded into six tracks

• Of the 26.80-km expansion into four tracks of the Thiruvananthapuram Kazhakoottam-Mukkola bypass, 22 km has been completed

• 16.20km road from Mukkola to Tamil Nadu  being developed into into four lanes

• Thalassery-Mahi bypass of 18.6 km, being expanded into four lanes

• Alappuzha bypass (6.8 km)

• Kollam bypass (13 km)

• Widening of Palakkad Nattukal-Thanav road, 46.72 km

• Restoration work of Munnar-Bodimet 41.78 km road

Hindustan Latex

Minister of state for health Ashwini Kumar Choubey informed Suresh Kodikunnil that the financial affairs committee of the union cabinet has decided to sell shares of the Hindustan Latex in Thiruvananthapuram. A panel has been formed to asses its assets.

Minister of state for textiles Ajay Tamta told P K Sreemathy that there was a plan to open a hostel for boys at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Kannur.
