Nehru stadium, Kaloor junction, Lissie junction, MG Road, and Maharaja's college ground are the five stations on this route. With the service beginning through MG road, the KMRL hopes to draw in more commuters.
Till now, only the 13-km stretch from Aluva to Palarivattom was operational. This metro route has 11 stations and covers the distance in 25 minutes.
The minimum fare is Rs 10 and the fare from Palarivattom to Aluva is Rs 40.
There are two other slabs of Rs 20 and Rs 30.
The construction work of the first phase of the metro, spearheaded by metro man E. Sreedharan, was completed in a record time of four years.
