Kochi: Tuesday turned out to be yet another dismal day for embattled actor Dileep, who has been leading a remand prisoner's life since his arrest on July 10 for allegedly plotting the February 17 actress attack.

Barely 24 hours after a court in Angamaly rejected his fourth bail plea, Dileep knocked on the mighty doors of the Kerala High Court Tuesday for bail and, that too, for the third time. The Angamaly magistrate court rejected Dileep's bail plea for the second time Monday. The HC had also rejected his bail plea twice.

In his fifth bail petition to the court, Dileep reiterated the serious allegations against his ex-wife Manju Warrier and ADGP Sandhya. He said that there was a large-scale conspiracy hatched to trap him.

He had earlier alleged that the senior cop recorded the entire interrogation of Dileep but she switched off the cameras when the actor made a key revelation regarding his conspirators.

Dileep, accused of criminal conspiracy, also pointed out 'lapses' in the police investigation. The actor further said that the police was blindly following the statements made by history sheeter Pulsar Suni, prime accused in the case. Dileep's counsel Raman Pillai, however, did not get an opportunity to present his arguments.

The Kerala HC, that was considering his bail plea for the third time, sought to know what has changed since the last time the petition was rejected. The court said if the answer was in the negative, it would not take up the matter urgently. The HC soon postponed the hearing to next Tuesday (September 26), meaning which the actor has to spend some more time behind the bars.
