LDF, UDF neck and neck in Kerala local body bypolls

Thiruvananthapuram: The ruling LDF and opposition UDF have been involved a neck-and-neck fight in the bypolls held in various local self government bodies in the state.

Both the fronts won six seats each.

The CPM-led LDF retained Munderi ward in Kalapetta municipality and Karackamattom ward in Pambady panchayat in Kottayam. The front also wrested Manidamkuzhi ward in Kanjirappally panchayat from the Congress.

The Congress-led UDF retained Thumarakkav and Ramanthali wards in Malappuram.
