Kochi: Malayalam actor Dileep, arrested in connection with the actress attack case, filed a fresh bail plea on Thursday.

The actor, accused of plotting the February 17 attack on a co-actress, moved the bail plea at the Angamaly First Class Judicial Magistrate's Court, Manorama News reported. Earlier, the Kerala High Court had twice rejected Dileep's bail plea and the Angamaly First Class Judicial Magistrate, once.

In the fresh application, filed through senior advocate B. Raman Pillai, Dileep has sought conditional bail.

He requested the court to release him on bail as he has only been accused of conspiracy.

He said the only case against him is that he hired Pulsar Suni, the prime accused, to capture nude photographs of the victim. He also pointed out that his remand period has passed over 60 days.

Dileep was arrested on July 10 after Pulsar Suni deposed before the police that it was the actor who had commissioned him to assault the actress and film the act. The actress was waylaid and assaulted in a moving car on the night of February 17.

Meanwhile, Suni will be produced before the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court on Thursday. His remand period ends on Thursday.

The high court had on Wednesday postponed the hearing of the anticipatory bail plea filed by Dileep's friend and filmmaker Nadhirshah to September 18. Nadhirshah has been asked to appear before the police on Friday. The court also rapped the special investigation team for the delay in winding up the probe.
