Kochi: The Kerala police team probing the actress attack case is reportedly questioning Malayalam actor Edavela Babu at the Aluva police club. He is an office-bearer of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA).

He said the police asked him about a star show conducted by the AMMA and that he handed overs some documents related to it.

Ever since the February 17 attack on the young actress in a moving car in Kochi, several film personalities have come under the police scanner. Earlier, the police had grilled actor Dileep for nearly 25 hours in two separate instances before arresting him on July 10. The actor is accused of hiring goons to assault the actress and videotape the incident. Several film personalities had backed Dileep initially but later backtracked from their statements after his arrest.

The police had arrested Suni, who had worked as a driver of many film personalities, six days after the incident. Based on Suni's statements that he had deposited the memory card containing obscene images of the victim at Kakkanad office Laksyah, Kavya Madhavan's boutique, the police conducted searches at the shop but were not able to retrieve the card.

Kavya Madhavan and her mother also faced police interrogation. The police had also quizzed MLAs – PT Thomas, Anwar Sadat and Mukesh. Singer-anchor Rimi Tomy was also questioned about the star shows organized by Dileep in foreign countries.

In their remand application, the police had claimed that Dileep had developed a grudge against the actress for letting his then wife Manju Warrier know about his alleged affairs and had hatched a conspiracy to take revenge way back in 2013.
