Ambalappuzha: A precious gold chain and locket, which are part of the holy ornaments worn by the deity of the famous Sreekrishna Swami Temple here, has gone missing.
The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) commissioner conducted an inquiry into the complaint in this regard and confirmed that the locket and chain are missing.
The ornaments are supposed to be taken out of the temple's strong room only during auspicious occasions such as annual festival and Vishu.
TDB president Prayar Gopalakrishnan has ordered the Devaswom Vigilance to probe the complaint. He also requested the chief minister to order a crime branch probe into the complaint.
The temple priest told the Devaswom commissioner that the ornaments would have gone missing during the last festival.
