Thiruvananthapuram: To err is but only human... and that age-old saying stands true even if you happen to be the police intelligence chief of a state.
Additional director-general of police (ADGP) B.S. Mohammed Yasin had a red face moment on Wednesday when he marched into the official residence of revenue minister E. Chandrasekharan in a bid to meet agriculture minister V.S. Sunil Kumar.
But it appears that the senior cop not only walked into the wrong house, he failed to identify the minister too.
The cop walked up to Chandrasekharan and asked him if he were Sunil Kumar.
Chandrasekharan later said how someone who doesn't even identify the ministers be the intelligence chief of the state. He made it clear that he hadn't called for a meeting with the cop.
Yasin had taken an appointment with Sunil Kumar at 8 am on Wednesday. The incident turns out to be more bizarre as Sunil Kumar vouches that he knew Yasin personally and had met him before too.
However, the cop sought to put the blame on his driver, and said he got the ministers' homes mixed up. But that does not explain how Yasin mistook Chandrasekharan for Sunil Kumar. Plus, both houses are located in different parts of the capital.
