The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has declared the provisional results of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for the first round of allotment in MBBS and BDS seats on its official website. The final results will be declared on Saturday, November 7.
15 per cent seats in the All-India Quota (AIQ) and seats offered by Central and Deemed Universities as well as premier institutions AIIMS and JIPMER are also taken into consideration.
Candidates who have been allotted MBBS or BDS seats will have to report to the concerned college online before November 12.
The second round of counselling is scheduled to start on November 18 and will close on November 22.
The NEET admission process gets underway with the two-round counselling. Eligible candidates can check the results as well as counselling schedule online at mcc.nic.in.
Respective states will hold counselling for quota seats in their kitty.
Originally scheduled for April and May this year, the NEET was finally conducted on September 13 after it was postponed on several occasions on account of the coronavirus outbreak. But after it came to light that many had missed the September 13 exam on account of COVID restrictions, the Supreme Court had intervened to facilitate another attempt on October 14.
NEET results are the basis for admission to undergraduate medical courses in institutions governed under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019. NEET 2020 results were declared on October 16. Out of the total candidates who appeared in NEET 2020, 56.44% have qualified.
