5G
Apple said all iPhone 12 models will support 5G, the fastest variant of the technology, as well as lower-frequency bands.
Even though 5G connectivity services are at present not available in India, high-end phones of major companies like Mi and Samsung are compatible with it.
Display
The new ceramic hardened display, Ceramic Shield, is the most advanced by Corning, which manufactures most of the gorilla glasses used on phones.
Xiaomi's MI Mix and Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus too use Ceramic panels, but it is used on the back of the phone. Apple is the first to use it as the main display.
iPhone 12: 6.1-inch
iPhone 12 Mini: 5.4-inch
iPhone 12 Pro: 6.1-inch
iPhone 12 Pro max: 6.7-inch
A14 bionic processor
The A14 bionic processor which was at the heart of the new iPad Air launched by Apple will also power the 12 series phones. The iPhone 11 had A13 bionic processor. Even though Apple does not reveal its RAM and battery sizes, the powerful new A14 processor is expected to provide around 17 hours of video playback, similar to the A13.
Camera
The best feature in all iPhones is the camera and the 12 series do not disappoint us either. The iPhone 12 and mini version comes with Dual camera (12MP) with an f2.4 ultra wide and f1.6 wide. Night Mode is available on all cameras.
A 'Pro' and 'Pro Max' version with three cameras and a new 3-D 'lidar' sensor will also be available at a higher price. iPhone 12 Pro models also feature the new Apple ProRAW (coming later this year) which combines Apple's multi-frame image processing and computational photography with the versatility of a RAW format.
Users can experience full creative control over colour, detail, and dynamic range natively on iPhone or with other professional photo editing apps.
The new phones will also have HDR 3 and HDR video recording with Dolby Vision up to 30fps, which were missing in iPhone 11.
