Thiruvananthapuram: Wishes from myriad corners poured into the residence of the legend of modern Malayalam literature MT Vasudevan Nair, who turned 90 on Saturday.

The prominent figures in Kerala, including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, wished him well. In the morning, CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury led the long list of well-wishers who turned up at MT's house to wish the multi-faceted personality well.

MT, who is equally popular in the Malayalam film industry as one of the most successful story writers, has penned several screenplays, which won him four national film awards, the most by anyone. He directed seven films and wrote the screenplay for 54 films.

Joining hands with master filmmaker Hariharan, the duo produced some of the biggest hits which include films like 'Oru Vadeken Veeragatha'. 'Panchangni', 'Amrutham Gamaya' and so on to name a few.

'Nirmalayam' which won the National Award for the best feature film was his first film as a director.
