Thiruvananthapuram: The makers of the gargantuan film 'Baahubali' directed by S S Rajamouli is all set to bring the life of Regent Queen Sethu Lakshmi Bai, based on the history treatise written by young writer Manu S Pillai, onto the silver screen.

The Hyderabad-based Arka Mediaworks has acquired the audio visual rights of the extremely successful book ‘Ivory Throne – The Chronicles of The House of Travancore’.

The pre-production works of the project is already underway and the contract was signed recently. It was the book’s publishers Harper Collins which announced the news. Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni had produced the two movies in the super hit 'Baahubali' franchise under the banner of Arka Mediaworks. They are planning a movie or a web series based on the book.

Manu S Pillai was just 25 years old when he published the book which gives readers a peep into the unknown stories of the royal house of Travancore. An extensive research of six years had gone into the book, which became an instant success.

The history of the royal house of Travancore is narrated through the eventful life of Sethu Lakshmi Bai who was the last regent ruler of the dynasty from 1924 to 1931. Manu, a native of Mavelikkara, is settled with his family in Mumbai.
