Almost two years after ending the marriage with his third wife, Dr. Elizabeth, Tamil actor Bala married for a fourth time on Thursday (October 23). The actor married his relative Kokila at 8:30 am at Kerala's Pavakulam Temple in Kaloor, surrounded by relatives and friends. Kokila, who hails from Tamil Nadu, is Bala's maternal uncle's daughter. Recently recovering from a liver transplant, Bala expressed that he needs support due to his health condition. His journey through marriage includes his first union with a Kannada actress and a subsequent marriage to singer Amrutha Suresh, with whom he shares a daughter named Avantika. While individuals opting for marriage in a similar repeated fashion may be relatively rare today, psychology classifies Bala's pattern of relationships as 'serial monogamy.'

According to the National Institute of Health, 'When men marry women sequentially, or women marry men sequentially,' it is called 'serial monogamy.' Interestingly, it is viewed as favourable to male fitness but not for women's mental health. According to the platform, many studies show that women suffer from multiple divorces while men do not. These are a few signs of a serial monogamist, according to behavioural science experts:
1) They struggle with being single.
2) They want to move quickly into deeper relationships.
3) There is no proper closure or communication between the ending of one relationship and the beginning of the next.
4) They expect deep, premature commitments at the early stages of relationships.
5) They are clingy and chronically insecure. This can burn their partners out.
