The dramatic body transformation of comedian and Youtuber Tanmay Bhat has been quite the rage on the internet lately. With the help of healthy diet, workouts, and significant lifestyle changes, Tanmay has shed more than 50 kilos. In a recent podcast, Tanmay shared five tips that helped him in his weight loss journey.
Prioritising health
Tanmay says that health should be prioritized more than anything in one's life. The comedian revealed that he spends two hours daily hitting the gym and playing his favourite sport, badminton.

Lifestyle changes
Tanmay said that he initially followed the traditional routine of waking up early, going to the gym, lifting weights and eating healthy. However, he soon realised that he didn’t enjoy the routine and started playing badminton. He also introduced habit stacking, where he added another activity to the one he enjoyed. So, Tanmay began hitting the gym and lifting weights, before or after playing badminton. Tanmay added that habit stacking which is mentioned in the book ‘Atomic Habits’ has helped him make significant changes in his lifestyle.

Stop blaming circumstances
Taking accountability for your actions and not blaming others is crucial. Blaming your friends for forcing you to drink or the stress at work for smoking will not help. Instead of blaming others and the circumstances, you should start doing what you can.

Building mental resilience
Mind is like a monkey who loves to jump around and play. The mind will force you to stop hitting the gym or stuff yourself with sugary treats. But, you shouldn’t fall into that trap and build mental resilience to stick to the healthy diet, workout and lifestyle that you have built.
Do not stress
Tanmay reminds us that shedding weight shouldn’t be an added stress to your already stressful life. Instead of imposing stricter protocols, workouts and diet that you enjoy should be introduced to your routine. Moreover, a conflict between your thoughts and actions must be avoided. Tanmay added that healthy habits should be adopted by convincing yourself about its significance.
