Cricketer Suryakumar Yadav turns 34 today, and wishes are pouring in from all quarters for the amazing player who took the unforgettable T20 World Cup-winning catch earlier this year. He sprained his right thumb a while ago and is currently undergoing treatment. However, his fans know that the talented player and the world's no.1 T20 batter will bounce back stronger, like how he built a 15 kg lighter body after surgery. With a disciplined workout and diet under the guidance of a renowned dietician, he gained muscles and improved strength. On his birthday, let's take a sneak peek into how he did that and get inspired.
Strength training and diet
His dietician revealed in an interview that Suryakumar's routine involved hardcore strength and conditioning training after the surgery, with additonal calorie intake. They did it ensuring he didn't gain fat and by maintaining the existing muscle mass. His team also changed his food into a four-meal plan, from a three-meal-structure, adding eggs, meat and fish to all of them. They excluded dairy products, as he was not fond of them. The carb amount was also reduced, though nuts, seeds and veggies were added. Suryakumar also substituted rice and flour from his diet. The cricketer also upped his fluid intake, adding buttermilk and soups to other fluids.
