Tie your hair up before going to bed
Curly hair naturally attracts moisture and dirt from the environment. The raised cuticle layer on the surface of the hair strands makes them dry and frizzy. So, tying up your curly hair before going to bed, travelling outside in a dusty environment or while riding on a bike would be a great idea to protect your hair strands.
Blow drying
It takes time to dry the curly hair completely. So, most of us rely on blow dryers to dry our hair quickly. However, it isn’t good for the hair to get exposed to the hot air from the blow dryer regularly. It is better to allow the hair to get air-dried naturally.
Using the right comb
Combs with thin teeth do not suit curly hair. Wide-toothed combs are better for curly or frizzy hair. Do not comb your hair immediately after washing it. Instead of using a comb, you could remove the knots by gently running your fingers through the hair.
Oiling scalp
Even though oiling the scalp is good, too much oil may dry out the hair strands. Make sure to apply oil only on the scalp. You may have to use strong shampoo to remove excess oil from the hair, which further dries and damages the strands.
