Kochi: A group of seasoned medical practitioners and a US-based Malayali businessman have joined hands to launch an online medical services platform offering confidential consultation for sexual and related mental health issues. The platform called inticure.com will be launched on March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The platform will offer medical services by a panel of multidisciplinary doctors and medical specialists, including urologists, gynecologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, dieticians, lifestyle specialists, dermatologists, and somnologists, all licensed in their respective fields.
Don Thomas, CEO and founder of NextBig Healthcare Pvt Ltd, the parent company behind inticure.com, said the platform will have practitioners who can provide services in languages including English, Malayalam, Hindi and Tamil. He was addressing a press meet at Ernakulam Press Club on Thursday.
Dr Anita Mani, chief medical advisor of inticure.com, underscored the platform's commitment to patient privacy. "Many individuals hesitate to seek medical advice for sexual and related issues due to embarrassment or fear of judgment. Online consultations offer a discreet and accessible solution for such patients. At Inticure we also will focus on providing scientifically backed new and innovative treatment solutions. Non-medical treatments like counselling, modifying diet, and lifestyle habits can also go a long way in the treatment of many of these disorders. Most of the sexual issues respond well especially when treated at an early stage," the sexual medicine specialist with 25 years of experience said.
Dr. Haroon Pillay, medical advisor, inticure.com, explained how the platform works. "After completing a free assessment online, and the free initial consultation, the doctor will guide them to the appropriate specialist. Patients can choose the gender and language preference of the specialist doctors they are going to consult. We may not be able to guarantee that the patient will always get a specialist that matches their preference, but we will try our best to consider their preferences when we identify the appropriate specialists for them. No prescription will be provided during the initial free consultation" Dr Pillay said.
The platform has also onboarded Dr John Panicker, a sleep disorder specialist onboard with over 48 years of experience in the healthcare sector, as a medical advisor.
