Mumbai: The General Insurance Council (GAC) has launched the 'Cashless Everywhere' initiative to ensure cashless medical treatment at any hospital chosen by the policyholder. According to this initiative, policyholders can select any hospital for treatment, including those that are not part of the insurance company's network. Currently, the cashless service is available only in hospitals contracted by the insurance company or is included in its network.

Policyholders did not have access to cashless services if they sought treatment at hospitals not on the company's list. In such cases, the usual practice was to reimburse the expenses incurred by them by the policy terms, but this process often took a significant amount of time. The GAC launched a new initiative to eliminate this problem for policyholders.

• The claim must adhere to the terms of the policy, and the cashless service should be utilized by following the guidelines provided by the insurance company.

Tapan Singhal, managing director and chief executive officer of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance and chairman of the General Insurance Council, stated, "This initiative has been launched to make life more convenient for customers."
