Women often complain of stomach cramps, in varying degrees, during the menstruation. This is caused due to the contraction of muscles in the uterus. Staring from the first day of the period, the cramps can last up to 2 – 3 days.
In most women, this is not a serious health issue that requires medication. Home remedies or ordinary pain killers could be used to temporarily relieve the period cramps.
Noted nutritionist Rujutha Diwekar, who has celebrities and other famous personalities on her client list, shares some quick tips to ease the period pain, on her Instagramm and Facebook pages.
» Start consuming soaked raisins and saffron at least a week before the menstruation begins.
» Include sprout or cooked beans and lentils in your daily diet.
» Try to eat tubers and raw plantains at least twice a week.
» Make sure that you work out regularly. Try to catch at least 150 minutes of workout in a week.
» Take calcium supplements like calcium citrate every night before going to bed.
