Everybody knows that garlic has many medicinal properties. However, its role in aiding weight loss is not realized my most people.
A good number of Indian dishes have garlic as an ingredient. It is felt that ancient Indians probably included the vegetable in their regular diet considering its health benefits.
It has now been scientifically proved that garlic can reduce the risk of heart disease, control blood pressure and boost immunity. Rich in Vitamin B 6 and C, fibres, Calcium and Manganese, garlic can also help check weight gain and expel excess calories.
The polysulfide present in garlic is converted into Hydrogen sulphide by red blood corpuscles. Studies have shown that this Hydrogen sulphide dissolves in blood to reduce blood pressure. The Sulphur present in garlic can prevent formation of blockages in blood vessels.
According to scientists, weight can indeed be reduced by regular intake of garlic. The vegetable enables quick digestion and removal of toxins from the body. Researchers suggest that the ideal way to consume garlic is with water on empty stomach in the morning.
Mixing garlic and a little lemon juice to lukewarm water and ingesting it is also good for health. Both lemon and garlic are eatables that reduce weight. Taking garlic with honey also produces a similar effect.
