What should be the direction of staircase, winding up right or left?

A designer sits in front of a monitor, sweating profusely. When asked what the matter was, it turned out he was struggling with the intricacies of designing a staircase that ascends clockwise. Apparently, the client themselves didn't have such a strong opinion, but the instruction of clockwise direction originated from their relatives and friends acting as self-proclaimed advisors.

"Despite the Earth and all other planets in the solar system rotating on their axis and revolving around the Sun in a counter-clockwise direction, humans ascending staircases in houses in Kerala must do so clockwise." This is the theory put forth by the local staircase scientists conducting research in this field. What can we do? Even our designer has no choice but to navigate the path laid out by the Vastu experts.

Only by aligning the staircase against the Earth's rotation, at any cost, will the family and friends be appeased. As far as I know, the term 'clockwise' has only been used in house construction for about 10 years. Before that, the direction of the staircase was not an issue for the majority.

Now, most people, caught within the powerful magnetic field of superstition, are deeply invested in researching the direction of staircases. I don't know if Vastu scriptures even mention the clockwise theory of staircases. But whether or not it exists, my question is: does it really matter if you climb the stairs to the upper floor by turning left or right?
