Adarsh Kumar’s brand-new house at Pulinchuvadu near Chengannur is a single-storey structure that boasts of classic traditional-style designed as per the rules of Vastusastra. The structure built by reducing the area in square feet is perfect for the couple as maintenance is easier.

The elevation that exudes traditional charm with clay tiled sloped roof, spacious sit-out and long landscape are the highlights of this house. Meanwhile, the car porch has been built away from the structure to enhance the overall look of the elevation. The car porch with its tile paved truss roof perfectly complements the house.

The simple house has a car porch, sit-out, living space, office room, dining area, kitchen with a work area, two bedrooms and bathrooms. The interiors are designed as per the Vastusastra to ensure positivity and prosperity. The spaces, right from the entrance area, have been uniquely arranged to ensure excellent cross ventilation. The living area is minimal yet elegant. Interestingly, there is no TV in this house as the couple do not enjoy watching it. So, instead of a TV unit, a beautiful prayer space is arranged in the living area.

The full-length mirror in the dining area looks chic and helps in making the space look incredibly vaster. Meanwhile, the wash area is arranged away from the dining space. A toilet too has been built close to the wash area.

The kitchen is built in the Agnimoola. The cabinets here don the classic shade of grey. The countertop, meanwhile, has been paved with black granite. Work area and store room are built adjacent to the kitchen to make this area space efficient and convenient.
The master bedroom is quite simple with just the basic facilities. A room has been separated here to store used clothes; ironing space too is arranged here.

The owners weren’t ready to compromise on the quality of the building materials which reflected in the budget too. Timber has been used extensively for furnishing in this house. This beautiful abode was constructed, including the structure and furnishing, for a budget of Rs 70 lakh.
