Kalappurakkal Jose and his wife Soniya Mary George had purchased a plot of land near their ancestral home in Ayarkunnam in Kottayam, Kerala, to build their dream abode. They wanted a spacious front yard, space to grow a vegetable patch and a beautiful garden too. Moreover, the family wished for a single-storey utility home that looked like a double-storey mansion.
Engineer Sreekant Pangappat who designed the house was keen to include a spacious veranda where the family could enjoy lively conversations in the evenings. Besides, the house also has formal and family living areas, a dining hall, courtyard, pantry, kitchen with an adjacent work area, store room, four bath-attached bedrooms and a common bathroom.
The staircase leads to the vast terrace area while a balcony has been added within the truss roof. The beautiful house that looks like a two-storey structure from the outside sprawls in 3300 sqft with all the modern amenities.
Mesmerizing greenery is what welcomes you as soon as the gate is opened. The verdant meadows, mind-blowing garden and the cosy garden chairs grant a scintillating ambience to the landscape. Meanwhile, the clay roof elevation of the structure that features both traditional and contemporary designs blends well with the surrounding greenery.
The family’s friends and relatives are showering praises on them for building such a warm and comfortable house.
