Fusion houses where two different architectural styles are smartly combined never fail to lure attention. This single-storey fusion house in Kottayam exudes classy vibes as it flaunts the elegance of colonial style as well as the timeless charm of traditional architecture. The elevation is simple and mostly don lighter shades of hues that are pleasant to the eyes. Interestingly, the red coloured tiles paved on the sloped roof add the perfect contrast. Moreover, this roof plays a pivotal role in granting a touch of traditional allure to the structure. Meanwhile, the gobble roof is the perfect colonial feature that stands out.
Huge windows that were commonly seen in colonial mansions are part of this house too. Besides, the UPVC windows in wooden finish bring lots of natural light and cool air into the house. The formal living area adorned with classy pieces of furniture, simple false ceiling and majestic chandeliers add to the colonial ambience of the interiors. Moreover, the light fittings play a significant role in enhancing the cosiness. Besides, the mood lighting allows the family to light up the interiors to suit their mood and disposition.
The interiors are designed in a semi-open style. Meanwhile, the living area, dining space and kitchen are arranged as part of the spacious hall. Interestingly, patio space with sitting areas connects the interiors with the outdoor area.
The fusion of traditional and colonial themes is continued in the kitchen too. The cabinets here are done in sturdy timber. Wooden furniture pieces are used in the bedrooms too in order to grant a graceful look.
Interestingly, sustainable energy sources have been utilized here; solar energy is mostly used to run the house. Besides, the smart home – automation technology enables the family to operate the electrical gadgets and appliances in the house from anywhere in the world using a smartphone.
