Dileep and Rashmi, a doctor couple based in Chanaganassery had decided on the name of their dream abode even before the construction began. Their brand new house, ‘Neermathalam’ truly exudes the enchanting grace of the three-leaved caper tree that bears light yellow flowers with lilac floral parts. Interestingly, the colour palette of the house matches the tropical flower that is seen in abundance in the country sides.

The modern contemporary architecture blends with classic slope roof on the elevation here. The long open balcony is the highlight of the house. The structure has been built by leaving sufficient space in the front so that the guests could comfortably park their vehicles. Besides, the majestic view of the house, in all its glory, could be enjoyed from the road.

The interiors boast of an incredible play of hues with shades of pink, purple and beige donning the walls, furniture pieces and the décor. White vitrified tiles have been paved on the floor in the common areas. This makes the interiors spaces brighter and vaster. Meanwhile, wooden finish tiles have been used in the bedrooms.

The family living and dining areas have been designed in an open theme. A mini skylight courtyard has been arranged beside the dining area to bring in the natural sunshine. The wash area too is arranged here. The windows here beckon golden sunlight and a cool breeze into the house. Interestingly, the wash area has been highlighted with attractive terrazzo tiles.

Skylight jalis are installed on the ceiling of dining hall. During the daytime, shadows draw pretty pictures on the wall here. The kitchen cabinets, meanwhile, are done in plywood with paint finish. The adjacent work area completes the kitchen area.

The bedrooms have been designed to suit the likes and interests of the family members. The beautiful wallpapers and the panelling works add a splendid grace to the bedrooms. The bath-attached bedrooms have in–built wardrobes for storage.

A consultation room too has been built as part of the structure for the owners, without ruining the privacy of the house. A separate entrance from the outside is arranged for this area. Oodles of natural light and fresh air grant a mesmerizing ambience to this beautiful abode.
