This fabulous abode noted for its classy box style elevation and designer features is at Alangadu in Aluva. Owner Jaison and his family have named the house Thanal which means ‘shade’. The house is designed in the contemporary architecture style to suit the tastes of a modern family. The brick cladding wall in double-height is the highlight of the elevation.
A huge banyan tree stands in the road in front of the house. This too was considered while designing the structure. For instance, the cut-out designs of leaves in the car porch have been inspired by this. The glass ceiling, meanwhile, allows sunlight to draw beautiful patterns on the wall.
The front yard has been paved with natural stones and grass. The vertical bars on the balcony acts as a chic designer element. Moreover, this feature ensures privacy from the bustle of the main road.

The small corridor that begins from the sit out lead to the formal living area. This double-height space has huge windows lined on the walls. This brings lots of natural sunshine into the house, illuminating the interiors in sunlight. The double-height family living area is also the spot that connects both floors.
The minimal stairway is a steel structure with wooden planks as steps. Thin stainless-steel rods have been installed as the hand railings. A small door is what connects the dining area to the courtyard.
Two bedrooms each have been arranged on both the floors. The bath attached bedrooms have inbuilt wardrobes for storage. There is a separate dressing area in the master bedroom.
The open pantry is close to the dining area. Meanwhile, the partition counter in the centre could be used as a quaint breakfast area too.
The expatriate family says that their brand–new house is the perfect spot to spend a relaxing holiday.
