People have turned to gardening during the lockdown period mostly to beat the stress and boredom of sitting indoors. However, setting up an eye-catching garden is quite an expensive affair and this is a major factor that may discourage many. If that is the case, then you could try setting up a spiral garden which could be done easily without burning a hole in the pocket.

A few coconut shells, a small piece of bamboo and rope are all one needs to make a beautiful spiral garden. Even though coconuts are abundantly used in our cuisine, the shells are usually thrown away. However, they could be turned into splendid spiral garden which adds a chic look to your surroundings. Cover the bamboo, from the top to tip, with rope. The rope should be tightly tied without leaving any space between the layers. Seven or eight coconut shells could then be attached in the spiral style.

First trace the spiral shape using a white thread and then screw in the shells over it. The garden would look amazing if all the coconut shells are in the same size. You could make holes on the bamboo using a driller and then attach the shells with 1 inch screws. Rope is tied on the bamboo so that the shells would get a grip when they are screwed in.

Aquatic plants are suitable to be grown in these coconut shells as using soil would put excess weight on the shells. Clay balls need to be deposited in the shells before them with filling water. Money plants that do not require too much maintenance could be grown in the spiral garden. Such gardens could be placed inside the house or as a decorative piece in the sit out.

When a spiral garden is placed in the interiors, it is better to keep the bamboo in a sturdy stand. It could also be inserted in a regular pot that is filled with mud. It would then be easier to move the spiral garden around as you wish.
