Arun’s brand new house at Aruvikkara in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, has been designed by focusing on greenery and minimalism. All the amenities and facilities required for a family are arranged in this beautiful single storey house.
The exteriors feature the simple yet elegant flat – box style. Designed in 1600 sq ft, this amazing abode has a sit-out, formal and family living areas, dining space, courtyard, three bedrooms and kitchen with a work area. The house stands on 10 cents that has been contoured in a vaster piece of land.
The interior spaces have been designed by making the courtyard the focal point. The open spaces make the interiors look vaster. Meanwhile, the formal living area has been arranged by ensuring enough privacy. From here, one could enter the spacious hall where the dining area, family living area and the courtyard are arranged. Instead of separating the areas using partitions, walls have been highlighted as TV area and prayer space. The family living area too is furnished minimally.
White vitrified tiles have been used for flooring in this house. Meanwhile, the custom-made furniture suits the general theme of the house. The doors, windows, chairs and the dining table are all made in teak wood and mahogany.
The courtyard has a pergola glass roof through which natural sunshine reaches the interiors in abundance. This area is decorated with charming indoor plants to add a hint of greenery inside the house.
The bedrooms are simple and have attached bathrooms and in – built wardrobes.
The open kitchen faces the dining area. Chairs are arranged at the pantry counter to turn it into a quaint breakfast counter. The stunning hanging lights add a chic charm to the kitchen. The cabinets, meanwhile, are done in HDF with paint finish. The counter top has been paved with granite.
The walls in the house don lighter shades of hues that grant a soothing ambience. Interestingly, false ceiling is done only in some part of the common area. The interiors are filled with cool breeze, pleasant sunshine and fabulous greenery which exude positive vibes all around.
