Saji Abraham, an expatriate, is extremely thrilled and proud to talk about his brand new house at his hometown in Kunnamangalam, Kerala. The family had preferred the coziness of a single storied house as maintenance would be easier. Besides, it would be perfect to host guests as well. The owner had done quite an impressive homework about the estimated budget of the house before the construction began.
The house is designed in an elongated manner to suit the unique structure of the 25 cents plot. The dwelling majestically sprawls across the long piece of land in three beautiful blocks. Roofing tiles are paved on the sloped roof. The front yard has been paved with elegant tandoor stones which enhances the overall look of the exteriors. The L-shaped verandah is a highlight of the elevation. The pillars are highlighted by pasting decorative cladding stones. Meanwhile, the car porch is built separately, on one end of the front yard.
This beautiful house, in 2950 sq ft area, has a car porch, sit-out, formal and family living areas, dining space, kitchen with an adjacent work area, and four bedrooms. The family preferred the elegant charm of granite, for flooring, as it perfectly matched the minimal theme of the house. An L-shaped couch adorns the formal living area. The tensil painting on the wall is an eye-catching feature here.
The paneling and partitions are made in plywood – veneer finish. The gypsum false ceiling, in minimal style, and the LED lighting add a pleasant feel to the interiors. A part of the wall in the main hall has been turned into the prayer space by separating it using paneling.
The dining table can comfortably accommodate six persons. The island kitchen has been designed in marine ply, laminate and acrylic finish. Granite is paved on the counter top as well. An adjacent work area completes the kitchen.
All the bedrooms are bath-attached and has wardrobe facilities and separate dressing spaces as well. Attractive wall papers, false ceiling and LED lighting make the bedrooms extremely beautiful and comfortable.
The family says that the coziness of the single storied structure makes the gatherings special and extremely lovely. Besides, it makes maintenance easier.
