Do you remember actress Divya Unni clad in jeans paired with a high-neck T-shirt and a checked shirt over it. This was Divya Unni's hit look from the movie 'Friends'. Divya Unni has always been known for her distinct style choices. She has acted alongside leading Malayalam actors like Mohanlal, Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, and Dileep, appearing in over fifty films across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. She effortlessly transitioned between portraying a simple village girl and a modern woman.
Although active in the 90s, she later took a break from films but continued her dance practice. Having learned dance since the third grade, Divya Unni believes this continues to be the secret to her beauty and health. Nowadays, she is mostly seen in saris and churidars. Even while abroad, she didn't embrace a heavily westernized style, preferring jeans and shirts over other modern clothing.
She revealed this in an interview, stating that even while in America, she didn't want to change her dressing style. She preferred Indian attire like saris and churidars most of the time. She explained that because she implemented a rule in her dance school requiring churidars, she felt it wouldn't be right to contradict that herself.
Divya Unni's sari collection also has many admirers. She owns a wide variety of saris, including set saris, Kanjeevaram, cotton, and Banarasi. Photoshoots featuring her wearing printed coats over set saris had also gone viral.
