Beauty is in natural looks: 'Nayika Nayakan' fame Vincy Aloysius

Vincy is a painter too and her passion for colours perhaps forms a link between her engineering studies and artistic skills.

A round moon-face, curls that cuddle it, vivid dimples and an endearing smile that light up the stage - all these sum up to one name - Vincy Aloysius. A contestant of 'Nayika Nayakan,' a popular acting reality show aired on Mazhavil Manorama, Vincy is now a household name to the mini screen audience across Kerala.

She adorns diverse costumes and dons versatile characters on stage with elan. Yet, Vincy has personal choices when it comes to dressing up for her daily activities. The 22-year-old is an ardent fan of sarees and has a rich collection of casual sarees and matching semi-ethnic jewelry.

Vincy feels confident when she flaunts a cotton saree, a round medium sized black bindi, some black-metal bangles, a pair of jhumkas, a necklace and her hair let loose. “I wear a fairness cream to light-up my face. I don't wear any other make-up even to parties,” she says.

Vincy believes that a person is most beautiful in her natural looks. Her rich collection of black-metal and antique gold jhumkas, necklaces of different patterns and chiming bangle-box prove her fascination for jewelry.

Other than sarees, a pencil-cut ankle-length jeans and check-shirt make up a comfy-costume for Vincy. “I used to wear salwars with elbow-length sleeves. After coming to Nayika Nayakan, I started flaunting wide-neck gowns and short-sleeved kurtis,” she says.

Coming down to hairstyles, Vincy loves to expose the length and texture of her locks. “High bun doesn't suit me. My round face would look swollen with a pressed hairstyle. Even if I pin some hair in the front for convenience, I make sure that my crown-portion is fluffy and puffed,” she says.

“We were on a tour to north India from our college when I was diagnosed with chicken-pox. Teachers sent me back home to prevent the spread of the disease. I lost confidence in my looks. I spent a couple of weeks inside my room. It was then I saw the advertisement of 'Nayika Nayakan,' sent my application and got selected to it. Until then, I had never dreamt of a profession other than architecture and painting. I suddenly wanted an appreciation to my looks and personality skills to help revive my confidence,” Vincy says.
