This year’s event is special as it is also a fundraiser for Kerala flood relief to help the state overcome the devastating August deluge.

Indian supermodels will walk for famous designers at the m4marry wedding week, making it one of the most awaited fashion events of the year.

Not your run-of-the-mill runway

Kerala’s overwhelming greenery is going to creep into the Le Meridian on the first day of the show. Models dressed in Anju Modi’s traditional bridal wear will walk on a runway adorned to resemble a garden of a haveli, adding to the richness of the designs.

Tarun Taihiliani shall live up to his unconventional styles by showcasing his collection on a dark backdrop using black undertone with bright string lights on the runway. It shall be interesting to see a rather paradoxical theme for a clothing line meant for celebratory occasions.

The third day will take you back to old school red coloured wedding as Gaurav Gupta showcases his collection on a runway covered in red roses.

Adding to the unconventional themes brought forward at the event, the runway shall not be a ramp at all! Instead, it will be spread like a stage to give authenticity to the themes.

What to look forward to?

All three biggies of Indian couture are pioneers in experimental bridal wear and are known to contemporise Indian fashion. Anju Modi has been acclaimed for her intelligent use of indigenous fabric. It shall be interesting to see if and how she uses Kerala’s traditional handloom and weaves for this show.

This will be Tarun Taihiliani’s second collection for the M4Marry wedding week. In 2016, he stole the show with regal designs adorned with embroidery and embellishments. Whether this year’s collection takes a royal turn yet again, we cannot wait to find out.

The stage is being prepared for the grand show.

If your bridal fantasies are covered in silhouettes and flares, then Gaurav Gupta’s designs are what you’re waiting for. The third and last day of the fashion week has us waiting to see if the couture king will incorporate any standard Kerala wedding wear to create something fresh.
