Perumbavoor: The police investigation team probing the Jisha murder case on Tuesday took the accused, Ameer Ul Islam, to Perumbavoor for evidence collection.

Apparently, the probe team recreated the crime scene as they took Ameer to Jisha's home, hoping to find crucial evidences such as the knife he used for the crime.

The handcuffed Assamese youth was later brought to the lodge, where he used to stay. They also visited a nearby hotel, where Ameer was a regular customer.

According to the police, Ameer had visited Jisha's home on April 28 morning when they had an altercation. He returned again in the afternoon in an inebriated condition and raped Jisha before murdering her.

Ameer, who was arrested in connection with the murder of law student Jisha, has been under judicial custody in Kakkanad sub-jail. He was nabbed from Tamil Nadu near Palakkad border.

The police purportedly delayed the process fearing locals may attack the culprit.

Meanwhile, an autodriver at Vattolippady on Monday identified Ameer-ul-Islam. The identification parade was held at Aluva police club where the investigation team has been interrogating him.

Ameer had reportedly hired an autorickshaw to flee the crime scene on April 28.

The police have launched a manhunt for Anarul Islam who is suspected to have helped Ameer commit the crime.
