New Delhi: Conceding defeat to the BJP in the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand polls, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi Saturday congratulated prime minister Narendra Modi and his party on their triumphs.

However, in a series of tweets, Rahul said the Congress will not give up its fight till it won hearts of the people.

“Our fight continues and will not end till we win the hearts & minds of people,” he tweeted.

In another tweet addressing all Congress workers across the country, he said “We stand resolute and committed to our values and our belief in an India united in strength and purpose.”

Elated over the Congress' victory in Punjab where the party wrested power from SAD-BJP alliance, Rahul said it was a mandate for a brighter future for Punjab and it's youth.

The Congress, who allied with the ruling Samajwadi Party, suffered a drubbing at the hands of the BJP in UP, while it lost power in Uttarakhand. Goa and Manipur have thrown up hung assemblies after the Congress and BJP failed to gain simple majority.
